Another share for everyone (or anyone) who still reads my blog :)  This LO is for the July Big Savvy Sketch over at SCRAPBOOK SAVVY

MY BROTHER

I've used the fabulous OA "Travel Girl" Kit from the Savvy shop on this LO.  Who says you have to use holiday snaps??

Hope you can all join in the fun with this sketch.  A huge $40 voucher plus FREE post for the winner.  Head on over to the blog to see all the details.

I'm off to see P!nk tonight, and then again on Sunday :)

Have a great week and I'll be back again soon with more to share.

It's a Wild Ride.....

This weekend Scrapbook Savvy are holding their monthly CC, and we would love if you could join us.  There are 5 great challenges, with lots of Savvy spending money up for grabs.

The challenge I set was a 1-2-3 Theme.  You must include

DOODLING + CHIPBOARD + the word "WILD"

Easy :)  Here is my LO

Again, lots of misting, doodling, bright colors and stamping on this one.  I love, love this photo of Aidan.  The look on his face was priceless.  The ride was a kiddie rollercoaster, and he'd never been on one before.  The first hill they went down and the look for sheer terror on his face was superb !!!

Don't forget to load your new and original creation to the Savvy Gallery by midnight Thursday July 4th to be in the running to win some $$$.

I was lucky enough this month to receive the very Savvy Smashable Kit to have a play with.  What I love about this kit are the little bits and bobs that go perfect in a Smash* album.  I find this style of scrapping so easy.  It's a little bit stressful, I find, to then try and scrap "normal"

Anyway, here are a few pages I've started in our Summer Holidays Smash* book.

That's it for me today.  Hope you can join us over at Savvy this weekend, and don't forget you still have a couple of days to enter the Purple Pumpkin June sketch challenge as well.  Lots of terrific entries this month :)

Happy scrapping everyone

SMASH*ing good time !!!

I didn't really know anything about SMASH until a few weeks ago.  I was asked by Sar at Scrapbook Savvy if I would like to give it a go.  "Why not" was my thought.  I have to say that I LOVE IT !!!  It's right up my alley. There is no thinking, no structure (not that I have any in my scrapbook pages), I can put whatever I want on the page and not have to worry if everything "matches".

It reminds of when I was younger and kept a diary.  Everything went in there - but I didn't realise back then that was a form of scrapbooking.

I thought it would be great to finally get some of the 1600 photos from our USA holiday into a book.  We went to 2 years ago, but the thought of scrapping so many (not to mention the cost of doing that many photos!!) had put me off a little - until now.

Here's some of my work in progress.  It might not be right, but it's how I want to remember our holiday.  I think SMASH*ing is going to be my number 1 go to way of scrapping any type of holiday, occassion now as it's just so easy.  These 8 pages took only 2 hours.  It can take me 2 days just to work out what paper to use on a LO.

Anyway, hope you like it

The start of our adventure :)

List of what's on the itinerary, and a few momentos from our collection

Bailey celebrating his 7th birthday in NY

Our life saver - the subway map

And finally, what NYC is all about to us :)

As you can see, not a lot of papers.  Just wanting to get everything down that our holiday meant to us as a family.

Can't wait to keep filling the pages.

Thanks for stopping by

Boys will be Boys.....Savvy CC

This week Savvy are having their May CC.  Hope you can all find the time to join in some of the great challenges.  My challenge this month was a sketch challenge

And here was my example

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

Plenty of layering, and again grunginess on the background.  I've used my favourite Teresa Collins papers - just love the He Said range of papers for male LOs.  The photo isn't a very clear one, but it is a rare time when I have all 3 boys together for a picture.  This was taken at Easter this year.  Also have used some Purple Pumpkin washi and Flair button.

And a close up of the embellies and some of the background :)

There you have it.  Would love to see you join in my challenge at Savvy.  All the details can be found HERE on the blog.

Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by.

Savvy Sketch....NYC

Another quick post from me today.  This time, here is the LO I have created for the May Sketch Challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy.

On this LO I've used the Carta Bella "Well Travelled" kit and tried to stick to that. Only adding a couple of chipboard embellies I had in my stash.  It was such an easy kit to use that this LO took me less than one hour - unheard of for me !!!

Here is the sketch - you can see that I've flipped it for this challenge

This is THE challenge to enter at Savvy, with a MASSIVE prize of $40 to spend in store plus FREE POST Australia Wide.
Please create a NEW and ORIGINAL layout for this challenge, and upload to the relevant folder in the Savvy Gallery by midnight 31 May 2013.

Hope you can join in the fun.  Would love to see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by, Happy Scrapping

So many LOs to share

Hi everyone, another week down...where is the time going.  This post is quite a long post (for me) as I've been scrapping up a storm using the FANTASTIC  "He's Savvy" Kit from Scrapbook Savvy and more AWESOME embellishments from Purple Pumpkin over the weekend   My first LO using PP embellies, is based on the Scrapfriends May Sketch.

And my LO

"MONSTER MADNESS"

I focused on the colors in my niece's make up and hair for this one.  Plenty of PP embellies on here - A ticket, Tag, Large Spotty Button, Washi Tape - Black Loops and a Flair Spotty Button.  You can find them all in the shop HERE.

I had plenty of fun with misting, inking and doodling - can you tell??  A close up of the large spotty button

And of the tag I have inked and stamped

Next are my LOs using the "He's Savvy Kit" from Scrapbook Savvy.  Such a great kit to work with.  So far I've managed 3 LO's and still have enough papers, alphas and a couple of embellishments for another one !!  There are still a couple left in the store, so be quick and grab yourself a great kit.

Here's the kit

"MY BIG BOY"

I have used the hexagon die cut as a mask on this LO with texture paste and then a quick splash of gesso over the top.   Sprayed the alphas with Dylusion ink.  Journal tag is the only embellishment not included in this kit

LO is based on a "Page Drafts" sketch

"MATES"

"3 DAYS"

The only extra items I've used on all 3 LOs are a journal tag on LO 1 and a Purple Pumpkin Skull button on my last LO.  Great kit to work with !!  I still have enough to create one extra LO so I might just start doing that tonight.

Hopefully you made it to end of that !!

Have a super week, and until next time.....happy scrapping

Savvy News....and a LO to share

How is everyone today?  I've got some exciting news to share - I have been offered a DT spot over at Scrapbook Savvy !!!!  I couldn't believe it when I received the email from Sar, but I am over the moon to be a part of this great team.

You can view the announcement here.  A big congrats to Chloe Nielsen who also made the team. Looking forward to working with everyone over the next 6 months.

Now onto the important stuff !!  My first assignment was to create a challenge for the cybercrop that is happening NOW.  From today, 25/4 until NEXT Thursday we will have 5 challenges to join in.

You can register here, so I hope you can as we would love everyone to join in.

My challenge is to create a LO using the word

DREAM or DREAMING or DREAMS

somewhere on there.

Nice and easy to start with.  And here's my LO

BIG DREAMS

My son Bailey is a huge AFL fan, and he hopes to one day play for his beloved Bombers.  We all have to dream  :)

One my LO I have used some awesome Purple Pumpkin embellies.  I've used a Kraft Tag in the top corner (I've cut and inked it) as well as a Chevron Flair Button. I've also used some fabulous washi tape. Such versatile embellies, and always work a treat on my LOs  :)

I've also used my favourite paper range by Teresa Collins - "He Said"  (can't get enough of this range for masuline LOs!!).  Love the Charms Creations Chevron, I will definately be using those again.  As well as that, I've used plenty of paints, inks, some mist and rub ons.

A close up of the Purple Pumpkin tag and flair

And the washi tape and the other half of the Kraft tag :)

Thanks for visiting today.  Would love for you to join in our Savvy Cybercrop and have a go at all the challenges.

To see all of the other challenges, make sure you pop all the Savvy girls blogs over the next few hours:

Don't forget to load your creations to the gallery, and ensure that it is an original LO for each challenge.

Also, don't forget that PURPLE PUMPKIN SKETCH challenge is still open until the end of the month.  You don't have to use PP embellishments to be in the chance to win some great prizes.  Would love to see a few more entries before April 30 :)

That's it for me today.

Until next time.....x
