February challenges already !! I'm hoping to join in a few this month....but we will see.
My first LO is for the February challenge at SCRAP THE BOYS. The challenge this month was to scrap about "someone important" in your boys lives. My boys are just as important in my husband's life as vice versa. Loved this photo and thought it suited the challenge perfectly.
"MATES"
I've used watercolors, gelatos and mists to create the background effect. I've then used washi and strips of paper, and covered with gesso to create a distressed look. A bit of stamping with paint, stencilling and some texture paste, and it's complete :)
And a close up
Make sure you head over to the blog to see what the other AMAZING DT ladies have done. It will blow your socks off !!!!
Next challenge is for the February Once Upon A Sketch challenge. I haven't joined in before as there are soooo many talented ladies that play along, but I decided to give it a go this month. The challenge was to use this sketch
together with the theme "Addicted To"
My boys are Football addicts !! When the AFL starts I cannot get a ball out of their hands, and it drives me insane. Every waking moment they can, they have this football in their hands and kicking, tackling, jumping on each other and arguing who has kicked the highest score !!!
Here's my LO
This LO was inspired by the extremely talented ladies from Pops and Colors 2. I have loved watching all the great tutorials and learning a few more tricks :)
The background began red, but after watering down the mists, paints and gelatos, it now looks pink. I love, love my new Prima stamps. Again, I've used texturez pastes, rub ons and stamps to help create my background
A few close ups
Love the mesh tape on this background. A bargain from Bunnings :)
Stamping, gelatos and texturez
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope to be back again soon.
Happy scrapping
Karen
