Scrap Around the World

Hi everyone.  A quick share today.  I decided to play along for the first time at Scrap Around the World this month.

Here is February's mood board

And here is my layout

I really loved the pink on this board, and have taken inspiration from the colors (the different pinks on my background, and the gold triangles stood out.  So I just had to add some glam to my LO.  I don't scrap pink very often, so it was a great board to push me out of my comfort zone.

A couple of close ups

Lots of gelatos, stamps, gesso and modelling paste on my background

I'm feeling very "blah" about my scrapping of late.  Hopefully it will pass soon :)  Think I need to stop being so harsh on myself and just go with what I like to do.

Anyway, back to the desk to finish off a few more DT creations, and hope to get started on my 2014 Project Life book soon too.

Thanks for stopping by

February challenges

February challenges already !!  I'm hoping to join in a few this month....but we will see.

My first LO is for the February challenge at SCRAP THE BOYS.  The challenge this month was to scrap about "someone important" in your boys lives.  My boys are just as important in my husband's life as vice versa.  Loved this photo and thought it suited the challenge perfectly.

"MATES"

I've used watercolors, gelatos and mists to create the background effect.  I've then used washi and strips of paper, and covered with gesso to create a distressed look.  A bit of stamping with paint, stencilling and some texture paste, and it's complete :)

And a close up

Make sure you head over to the blog to see what the other AMAZING DT ladies have done.  It will blow your socks off !!!!

Next challenge is for the February Once Upon A Sketch challenge.  I haven't joined in before as there are soooo many talented ladies that play along, but I decided to give it a go this month.   The challenge was to use this sketch

together with the theme "Addicted To"

My boys are Football addicts !!  When the AFL starts I cannot get a ball out of their hands, and it drives me insane.  Every waking moment they can, they have this football in their hands and kicking, tackling, jumping on each other and arguing who has kicked the highest score !!!

Here's my LO

This LO was inspired by the extremely talented ladies from Pops and Colors 2.  I have loved watching all the great tutorials and learning a few more tricks :)

The background began red, but after watering down the mists, paints and gelatos, it now looks pink.  I love, love my new Prima stamps.  Again, I've used texturez pastes, rub ons and stamps to help create my background

A few close ups

Love the mesh tape on this background.  A bargain from Bunnings :)

Stamping, gelatos and texturez

Thanks for stopping by.

Hope to be back again soon.

Scrappy catch up

It's been quite awhile since I was here !!  Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are back into the swing of things.

I have done a small bit of scrapping lately so thought I would share with you

This first one is for the Scrapbook Savvy CC that is happening NOW on the blog.  My challenge was to use the word SUMMER on your LO.  Very easy one for the first CC of the year.

My second LO was my first DT reveal over at Scrap the Boys for the January challenge - which was to scrap about something NEW.

There's still time to join in and win some great prizes, and soooo much inspiration from the DT.  I'm still pinching myself that I made the team !!!

Next up is my take on the January Sketch challenge at Scrapbook Savvy.  It was my turn to create the sketch, and here it is:

And here's my take on it

Again, still time to join in and be the RANDOM winner of the $40 prize.

I've also been busy with Project Life.  I know PL doesn't appeal to all, but I really am loving it.  Here's a couple of pages from my 2013 album.  Still trying to finish off so I can start 2014.

And close up of Page 2

And if you've made it this far - THANKYOU !!!!  Here's both pages together

Well that's it.  Would really love to know if anyone still reads blogs???  Is it worthwhile continuing to blog??

Hope you have a great weekend.  I'm hoping to get some scrapping done in between going to the beach and doing housework.

Happy scrapping

Crazy Boys...

We are well and truly into the "silly season" and I am really finding NO time to sit at my desk and scrap.  In between work, kids activities, getting ready to go away there just isn't alot of time.  Anyway, I have managed a LO for the Scrapbook Savvy December Sketch.

Something different for me - NO white background.  Very rarely will you see this :)  The photo is a cheeky, fun type of pic of my son and his friends so I wanted to keep the LO bright and colorful.  Think I managed that :)

"CRAZY BOYS"

Loved using the gelatos on my LO to add a pop of color.  Lots of goodness from Flutterby Designs on this one too.  I even added some glitter to the title - something I could get used to :)

I used gesso on the background, as well as mists, shimmerz and lots of doodling.  A close up of the masking, and gelatos

If you would like to play along, you can see the SKETCH HERE

Hope to be back soon with more to share, as well as some exciting news.

Best Day Ever

Evening, a quick share today with a couple of LOs I have recently created.  Not sure about anyone else, but I'm finding less and less time to scrap with the silly season now upon us.  The first LO is  for the current Scrapbook Savvy CC that is happening until this Thursday.

My challenge was to use the phrase "BEST DAY EVER" on your creation.

I've used watercolors, mists, lots of doodling and stamping, plus plenty of rubons.  As well as some shimmerz dazzlerz and dimensionz and the awesome cut out from Flutterby Designs.

Photo is of my son Bailey on the day he had his braces taken off last month.  To him, it was the Best Day Ever!!!

My next LO is for the November sketch at Purple Pumpkin.  This is my last month on the DT and I've enjoyed my time there :)  Hope you can join in the fun this month

I recently went to a Gatsby themed party and I thought the red PP embellies would go fabulously with the red in the photo.  Again, masking, doodling and stamping on the background - and rub ons.  I love them !!

That's it tonight.  Hope you find some time in this busy crazy month to get some crafty projects done.

Thanks for stopping by.

One more share

Back again to share another PL page I've done with the November Savvy PL kit.  So many goodies in this kit, I've loved using it and still have more leftovers for another page, or even a LO :)

Week 44 - Our day at Hotham

Page 1

Week 44 - Page 2

And both pages together

I think I'm getting better at this style of scrapping :)  And I think I enjoy it more than "traditional" scrapping.  So many possibilites, and I'm really enjoying making this album now, even though I am sooooooooo far behind !!  Gets me motivated for 2014 anyway :)

Thanks for stopping by.

A bit of this and that...

A quick pop by today to post a few things I've been working on lately

The first is my next project over at Shimmerz

Picture of Aidan after riding his new bike for the first time.  Bit too fast around the corner and this is what happens :(  Lots of texturez and dazzlerz on this LO

And some close ups

Next LO is for the November Sketch at Scrapbook Savvy.  This picture was taken on a lazy beautiful sunny day while we were camping in Bright recently

And finally I've been working on my PL album again.  I'm really starting to love scrapping PL style.  So many photos can be scrapped, and it doesn't take me 3 days to finish one LO !!  These pages are using the November Savvy PL Kit (couple left I think).  Very excited as this is another kit designed by me.

Aidan's 7th birthday - Week 45

Everything except the sticker journal tag is from the kit.

And if you've made it this far (thankyou!!) here is the LO altogether

OK, that's it.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'm off to work on more PL today.  Trying to get as much done, scrapping wise, as possible as we head off on holidays in 4 weeks.

Have a very scrappy day

Shimmerz GDT November

Hello world !!  It seems like forever since I have been here, but I'm sure nobody missed me anyway.  I have some exciting news and that is I'm the GDT at Shimmerz Paints this month !!  Who would have thought that I would score a gig like that??  Not me, ever.  But here I am to show you my first creation I have done.

"GOOD TIMES"

I have scrapped this photo before, but loved it so much I decided to do it again :)  Again I've used lots of watercolors, masks and texture pastes. Lots of shimmerz goodness - Dazzlerz and Texturez, as well as some Purple Pumpkin goodies and the gorgeous little tags from Flutterby Designs.

A few close ups

I used masks with Dazzlerz Gummy Bear Blue and Texturz Sandy Stone on the background

Here I've used Tidy Widy White Texturz with my masking again to add some extra bling and texture.

Close up of the gorgeous photo tabs from Flutterby Designs.  My fave for Project Life :)

And more lovely Shimmerz bling.  My background was created using watercolor paints :)

And finally, a new PL kit is available at Scrapbook Savvy now, but there are ONLY 2 left !!!  This kit was created by me and I can't wait to have a play with it.    At $23.00 this is a BARGAIN and won't last long

Thanks for making it this far.  If you do stop by, please let me know so that I know I'm not talking to myself in cyber world :)

Hi everyone.  What a stunning day it is here in Melbourne today.  Great day to be heading off for a few days of camping, which is just what I'm about to do :)

But first, a quick share for the November sketch challenge at Purple Pumpkin.  You can find all of the details on the blog HERE.

"FUN WITH MUM"

Not alot going on on this LO.  Kept it simple with water colors, mists, washi and plenty of Purple Pumpkin goodness.

Love a good Surprise

It seems like awhile since I posted on here.  Not much scrapping lately unfortunately.  Anyway, I'm here with a quick share today with you.  This LO was created for the Scrapbook Savvy CC that is currently underway.  My challenge was the sketch this month.

"Love a good Surprise"

On here I've used the "Family Stories" collection kit by Teresa Collins, along with some Purple Pumpkin flowers and flair and some D-Lish resin flowers, as well as lots of gelatos and shimmerz texturz.

A close up of the gorgeous flowers

And what my background started as :)  Gesso, then a stencil with texture paste, gelatos and water, and finished off with splatters of shimmerz

Thanks for stopping by.  I have a busy week before we head off for a long weekend of camping, but I hope to have more to share before we go.

Have a great week
