So I thought I would share my Valentine treats I've been making :)

Cupcake and biscuit bouquets. I have another biscuit one I'm working on and hope to have it done by the end of the week.

Farewell scrappy friends

Farewell scrappy friends !!! The time has come that I simply don't have the time (or the desire) to scrap so I am stepping away indefinately from it. I have stepped down from my CT committments and am going to concentrate on my baking.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who read my blog. I have enjoyed the ride. I might be back one day next year, but for now the scrap cupboard is closed and locked. If you see me blogging again, it will be about cakes and biscuits :)

New word - TOGETHER

I'm late !!!!!

I'm late with posting 2 LOs I created for the start of month as my ipad wouldn't let me post anything while I've been camping this past week. So frustrating !!! Anyway onto what I have done :)

The first LO I've done is for White with 1. The criteria is

WHITE + BLACK + PAINTS/MISTS

Here is my example

This LO is about Aidan and how he refused to get onto the jetski until his Dad told him he would go really slow. Once he was on there, he loved it and even "drove" it by himself with dad on the back :) I've used lots of paint and ink, and misted the background with a trusty TCW mask.

This is the first LO I've done for WW1 for a couple of months as we were away in the USA and then the bad month last month :( Again, a big thankyou to Mel for being so awesome with me taking some time off. I really enjoyed scrapping this LO and hope you can join in with us this month. Plenty of inspiration from the talented DT girls and you can check out all the work here

The next LO I have done is for the first sketch at Wicked Princesses. A couple of months ago Krissy asked me to be on her sketchy team and I was rather chuffed to accept. All happened at a bad time though so again, I hadn't done too much until now. Hope you can join in over at Wicked Princesses and be in the running for some $$$$.

Here is the LO I created

On this LO I've used the Simple Stories "Destinations" range. Loved it for this photo of the boys waiting to board the A380 at Melbourne Airport. I have used papers, tickets, alphas and chipboard from the range and added in one of the boys boarding pass stubs and again, lots of stamping on the background.

And don't forget to join us in the current challenge at Bird is the Word. The criteria is to use YOU & ME on your LO. Too easy.

Finally, here is my new favourite cupcake bouquet I made last week. Love these colors together, they work a treat !!!

Stuck!

It's school holidays here, and that means I don't have to rush so much. And with that, I can sit down at my desk and scrap. I decided to play along with Stuck this month and have used their Sept 15th sketch as the inspiration for this LO.

On this LO I've used October Afternoon "Boarding Pass" range as well as some of the Simple Stories "Destination" range. I've used my trusty stamps and masks for the background and even included one of the boys boarding passes on here. Photo is of the boys when the plane was taking off from Melbourne.

I also have another sneek - I know, I know, don't fall over !!!

You & Me - BITW

YOU & ME

I've used a photo of 2 girlfriends and I that I have known for over 30 years !!! Don't get too many friendships like that. And the good thing is, we don't need to see each other every week to be able to just pick up where we left off :) I'm looking forward to the next 30 years and many more stories to share.

Here is my LO

I've used the new Authentique range of papers, the chippie corner is from Scapmatts, a couple of MVBs and the usual paint and ink. I also used a Wicked Princess sketch as my base for this one :)

You must go and check out the stunning examples from the rest of the DT. They are such fantastic scrappers, with plenty of inspiration to be had !!!

mmmmm...........cake !!!!!!

I haven't had a chance to sit down and scrap this week yet (have that planned for the weekend), but I have been baking and thought I would share with you what I've created

The first one was for my SIL's birthday. It was a practice for a wedding cake I'm doing in December, but I got off the beaten track and it's not anything like it should have been !!!

The bottom layer is a chocolate mud cake covered in ganache, and filled with chocolate cream. Top layer is vanilla sponge with buttercream and chocolate cream inside.

I've also been working on a few Christmas ideas and here's my first batch of cupcakes

Again, chocolate mud cake, with vanilla been frosting. They were delicious !!! Of course I HAD to sample the one remaining cake ;)

I've made a few cupcake bouquets lately. I love doing them for people and they are a great way to say "thankyou, happy birthday, get well" etc. Any occassion is great for one of these!!!

This bouquet was for a baby memorial :( Very sad, so I was happy to help put a smile on the parents faces.

And finally, my first engagement cake. I was rather pleased how this turned out as it was a last minute rush as the original cake maker fell ill.

Taken away....

Well, it has been quite a while since I posted. Even since I last logged on to visit anyone. The last month has been one that I would rather forget. It has been a time when I have come to realise the important things in life, and that life really is precious. Scrapping has taken a back seat, and will continue to do so. I realise that it's not important, it's just something to do when I have time. You may wonder why I am feeling like this. You may not care.

3 weeks ago we received a message from one of our closest friends that her husband had collapsed and died. They were holidaying in Fiji, celebrating his 40th birthday. He was 40 years and 6 days old. No reason why it happened. He was fit, healthy, full of life and loved his life. It may take up to a year to find out what actually happened, they may never know. Our friend found her husband lying face down on the floor and there was nothing that she could do. Could you imagine that?? No, I can't..and I don't want to. Her children now have no father - they are 4 and 7 years old. She now has to pick up the pieces and move on with things, to keep going. I don't know how she is doing it to be honest. One of the strongest women I know, and I'm proud to call her my friend. We love her dearly, and have been helping her through this tragic time. I know time heals, but does it?? Does it ever fully heal 20 years of life together?? We have our memories and will always have them. We look forward to creating new memories with her and her girls, but it will be hard. But, it will then get easier.

I am angry that this happened. Why ?? Young, fit and everything to live for. It has made me realise not to take anything for granted. To always say "I love you" to the people that matter. Not to put things off. If you want to do it, just do it !!! If there's a mess around the house and you don't want to clean it - DON'T DO IT !!! It will still be there and life is too short to worry about the little shit. Don't take anything for granted, and live life while you can. You never know when it will be taken from you.

As I said, scrapping has taken a back seat. I have stepped down from 2 of my committments as it was taking up too much time and I had other priorities. Scrapping isn't the be all and end all, to me anyway. I have finally sat down this week to complete the next Bird is the Word Challenge. Not my best work, but does it matter?? Does everything have to be "perfect" everytime? Does it matter what others think?? Maybe not so much now. I will scrap to enjoy it, and when I can. I will continue on my roles at BITW and WW1 as I do love these challenge blogs. I want to send a big thank you to Wendy and Mel for allowing me the time to step back that I needed. They are awesome !!!

Anyway, enough of that. The challenge at BITW is the use the word SHARE on your LO.

I haven't completed the WW1 challenge, but if you are keen to join in the challenge is to use WHITE/PINK/JOURNALLING on your photo.

I have used it in a very different way this time and scrapped about how we loved going on the Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios. It was the bestest ride ever !!!! and I'm not even a huge Simpsons fan.

Once Upon A Sketch....

I decided to play along with Once Upon A Sketch this month. I loved the sketch, and the prompt was to journal soemething with "A Perfect Day Is"........

I scrapped about the perfect day we had when the kids met Woody at Disneyland. They were so excited to see him, until Woody stole Aidan's cap, put it on his head and started walking off !! We thought it was hilarious, but poor Aidan didn't. Anyway, here is my LO

It didn't quite turn out how I had it planned in my head, but it's another one done.

I'm off out with the girls tonight to see a band (no idea where or who !!!) but it should be fun, and then tomorrow is the big day - Grandfinal day for Ethan. Fingers are crossed that his team (and the 4 others from our club) come home with a win. Should be a big night tomorrow as well.

Central Park

Is truly a beautiful place to visit. It is so BIG and easy to become lost in !!! There is always something going on there, and with the sunny days, people EVERYWHERE !! I couldn't believe when we entered the park, that you totally lose the noise of the concrete jungle that is Manhatten. So, I decided to use one of our many Central Park snaps for The Scrappiest sketch 132.

The first of many photos from our holiday :) This one was taken in the 9/11 Memorial Museuem and I've used the June "He's Savvy" kit. I thought the papers worked perfectly with this pic, and it includes some embellishments from A Lil Something.

Back to reality.....

What a month we've had !!! Returned from the most amazing trip to the USA last week. So many memories and so many pictures to scrap !!! I'm sure nobody has missed me, but I'll post some pics anyway :)

We took close to 2000 photos so I won't show them all LOL. I will have plenty to show over the coming months as I scrap our adventures. It was such a great holiday and we are counting down until the day we can afford to go back !! That won't be for some time though.

This week I've been baking again for a friend's 40th birthday. I'll leave you with a pic of my creation. It was rather stressful making it as I wasn't sure how I wanted it to look, but in the end I think it worked out well. Hope it tastes OK !!!

Here is my LO

I haven't done any scrapping since the WP retreat and to be honest, I haven't missed it one little bit. I'm really not sure when I'm going to get motivated again. I have thought about blogging no more, and having time off scrapping but I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I don't have the time to blog, I haven't visited many people lately as I've been busy, there's so much going on here, and DH is in the middle of job interview process for a move to Perth. Whether that happens or not, well that's another thing. So, I'm sitting here wondering what to do???? The only thing I'm getting done atm are my CT committments, and I'd really love to have time to scrap other things iykwim.

Perhaps I will find the answer while I'm doing the kinder drop off and finishing the ironing this afternoon. Who knows??

What a weekend !!!!

Wow, what an absolutley brilliant weekend I had at the WICKED PRINCESSES retreat in Brissy. It was so great to meet so many talented ladies, see my girl Tam again, and to finally meet Cathy Cafun who's work I have admired for quite some time now. Some of the conversations we had still make me laugh today !!! I loved seeing how people scrapped, what techniques they used and just finding out lots of new ways to do things. I am looking forward to the next one already :)

I manaaged to scrap 6 LOs and a canvas. Unfortunately I can't show all the LOs yet as they are for CT committments. But, I can show you the canvas I made

I actually really love this canvas. Everything seemed to just work together. So to Princess Krissy, thankyou, and I hope it fits in nicely in Princessland :)

I chose the word Live and I love this photo of Bailey. I hope that he stays this happy and carefree as he gets older (fingers crossed !!!)

I am off on retreat on Friday (yippee) !!! My question is - Can you take too much scrap stuff????? I am trying to work out what I DON'T need to take and its proving to be a hard decision. I know that Krissy has the shop and I can buy things there, but, if I have it here I really should take it, shouldn't I ?????? I'm looking forward to meeting the girls IRL, and for a weekend away from the daily grind. Bring it on !!

Been cooking....

More cakes !! I've started my next course and it's all about Cupcakes and Cookies. Just thought I'd share what I've made so far

Week 1

Week 2

and I've just completed another birthday cake. Was very happy how this one turned out. The fondant worked like a dream !!!

Bottom layer is Chocolate Mud covered in choc ganache, and the top layer is White Mud Cake with white choc ganache covering it. Yum !!!!

Scrapping wise - I haven't done much this week (nothing I can share yet anyway). My mojo has gone lacking of late and I really need to find it !! This time next week I will be in Brissy on the Wicked Princesses retreat and I am looking forward to that. Just have to work out what to pack and I'll be good to go :)

A few to share

I was lucky enough to be asked to be GDT over at Wicked Princesses this month. The lovely Krissy sent me the "Blue Bird" kit and it is a fabbo kit filled with goodness !!! It was a little different for me as I don't generally do anything "girly".

So far I've created 2 LOs and a canvas. I am working on another LO and hope to have that finished soon. My first LO was the "Sunshine" LO for the BITW challenge and you can see that in my previous post. Here are the others

On the canvas I've used papers as the background, alphas, traced around flowers, cut out butterflies and used lots of paint :)

The new challenge at Black with 2 is now up and the criteria are

BLACK/RED/RECYCLED ALPHAS

Only 9 days to go until I'm off to the Wicked Princesses retreat in Brissy. Going to be a great weekend, and i get to spend it with my gorgeous friend Tam. Now all there is to do is work out what to take !!! Best get on with it.

Off to work now, but I will be taking time to come visit everyone tonight :) Have missed seeing what everyone has been up to over the last week :(

Not much time for scrapping, but.....

There hasn't been much time for scrapping or creating this week as I'm busy organising the major function for our football club this Saturday night. It seems to be taking up all of my time lately !!

I have however scrapped for a couple of challenges. The first being for Bird is the Word. The challenge this fortnight is to use the word SUN/SUNSHINE on your LO.

I'm a bit late loading it as I have used my GDT kit from Wicked Princesses and am revealing all on Monday. But, what is a few days between friends :) Go on over to BITW and check out what the brilliant DT have done over there. So much inspiration :)

She Art.....I'm hooked !!!

I have seen so many people doing this thing called "She Art" that I had to see what it was all about. Well, once I looked, I just had to sign up for it !!!! What a fabulous class, and there's so much to learn. For me, it was brilliant as I love to add lots of paint and textures to my scrapping backgrounds. This will now enable me to add another dimension (hopefully) to my scrapping as well as trying something new with canvas.

I decided to do a canvas for my mum for Mother's Day as my first go. The title of it is

"She was grateful for everything"

I love this quote as my mum does so much for me and I just want her to know that it really is appreciated.

Here is my first go at it. I am rather happy with it. Would love to know what you think though. Where I could improve, things I could do differently etc.

Apologies for the crooked picture. Only realised it when I went to crop it. But, you get the idea :)

So there you have it, my first She Art. I've started on another canvas but will show that another day. Loving all this creativity!!! The housework can wait I say :)

Sketch # 118 is now up at The Scrappiest. Another great sketch, and all the team have done another fab job with it.

I went for something a little different this week, and just followed the sketch LOL. I kept it very simple (for me), but I like the end result.

I've used the Echo Park Playground range of papers for this. As well as some misting and a couple of embellies. You can't see the journalling on the red background - but it is there LOL. I was just too lazy to Dymo it ;)

May challenges

I can share the news (and I know I'm late !!), but I was lucky enough to make the CT over at White with 1 !! Until this year I had never even applied for at CT position, and now I'm fortunate enough to be on 4 great teams :) I'm looking forward to working with Mel and the other girls over the next 6 months.

Beginning....

Hi everyone

Seems a while since I've blogged, but I've been holidaying in sunny Wodonga over the Easter break and having a fabulous time !!! It was so relaxing, and not having to worry about schedules was great. The kids had a blast and I love that about caravan parks. Always off doing something and not having to worry (too much) about where they are :)

So, having said that, I haven't scrapped much :( but that will change tomorrow. I have however done the Bird is the Word challenge for this fortnight, which is - to use the word Beginning/Begin in your LO. Easy :)

Here is my take

This is a typical picture of Aidan when throwing a tantrum. It is really starting to drive me crazy !!! I'm hoping he grows out of it.

A couple of pictures from the weekend :)

On a sad note, my grandmother passed away yesterday after complications from bowel surgery. It's very sad to see your own mum so sad :( We have the funeral on Tuesday and we are scattering her ashes over her favourite spot on the beach. Not a nice way to end the weekend, especially when it was unexpected :(

Nan's Boy

Hello Tuesday :) Not looking like a very nice day here, but we'll see. Off to the movies with the 2 youngest boys today to see Rio. They are quite excited.

Anyhoo, the next sketch is up over at The Scrappiest. These weeks are just flying by!!! It seems like Tuesday is here before I know it. It's another great sketch by Liz and I hope you can all squeeze it in before the Easter break.

I was happy with how this LO turned out :) On it I've used an awesome Tim Holtz mask, the new Bella Blvd "Family Dynamix" papers, some fantabulous Scrapmatts Chipboard (think I could become quite addicted to it), some Prima and Such Sweet Tierney buttons.

I love this photo of my mum and Aidan as it's very rare that mum has her photo taken !!!

I'm currently working on another 3 LOs so hope to share those soon. :)

A Little Bit Addicted....

to Red Tulip Easter Rabbits !!! This was the inspiration for my LO for the next challenge over at Black With 2.

The challenge is to use Black (dominant color), with yellow and fabric. Being a scrapper of boys, I don't have a lot of fabric in my stash, so all I could find were fabric lollypop flowers. Not very exciting, I know.... But, here is my LO

Would love to see some of my scrappy friends join in on this one. You have until April 30th to upload your creation :)

Do other people go through stages when they look at their work and go "blah". I am at that stage right now. Feel like I'm in a bit of a rut and am looking for ways to try to change it. I see all these wonderful blogs and what the very talented ladies are doing and wish I could do the things they do to get their work looking so fantabulous !!! Would love to know how you pull yourself out these ruts if it happens to you.

It is now half way through the school holidsys. They are going way too fast !! I am enjoying the lazy days and no rushing. We are off for Easter next Friday and I have plenty to do before then.

Best get on with it. Off to the shops with the boys today and then promised a game of Mouse Trap :) Football training after that, and hopefully I get to finish a couple of LOs I'm working on tonight.

ANother week, and another sketch over at The Scrappiest to play along with. Once again the DT have done some awesome work, so head on over and check it out. Here is the sketch

I found another old pboto of Aidan so changed the sketch to suit it. For this sketch I've used another fantabulous kit from Wicked Princesses which includes the new Bo Bunny Ad Lib papers and emmbellies. Also used one the cute chippie suns/clouds from Chip Chop Shop, and a Purple Pumpkin Owl button.

It's a cold miserable day here today so the scrap table is calling me. Want to try and get a couple of challenges done as well as some other work. I received a couple of Tim Holtz masks yesterday and I am in love !!! Can't wait to have a crack at them :)

I didn't get a chance to visit everyone yesterday, so it's my list of things to do this morning.

New challenge

I have been scrapping so much lately, but it's mostly for DT/CT committments. One that I can show you though is my first LO as part of the BITW DT :) The new challenge is on the blog now and all you have to do is use the word "FOREVER" in a LO. Easy peasy :) Here's what I did with it

I thought this photo was VERY appropriate for the word forever. Not a day goes by when I'm not doing some sort of ironing or washing *grrr*.

I have used the fabulous "He's Savvy" kit from Scrapbook Savvy for this LO as well as a few bits and pieces for my stash.

So make sure you head on over to Bird is the Word and come play along. Would love to see everyone's creations :)

I also have one other LO to share. This one is for Scrap the Boys. The challenge was to use a photo and be inspired by the clothing.

I have taken inspiration from the blue in Aidan's top. The background was inspired by the very talented Nic Pomeroy (love her work). I've used a very old transparent alpha, stuck it down and painted over it.

Not overly happy with it, but it's another one done ;)

Have a few more to share this week, as well as another round of LOs to scrap :) It's school hols here in Melbourne now so I plan on cooking as well (or should I say cake baking haha), and hoping to get the boys out of the house this week, just to break up the wrestling and fighting that goes on !!

3 LOs in one day - unheard of !!!!!

I scrapped up a storm yesterday. The boys left me alone, DH was out so what was I to do?? I had a gorgeous "Space Cadet" kit from Wicked Princesses to work with so just had to use it. I found some "old" photos of the boys and was rather inspired to sit down and get them done. I still have enough left over to create another couple of LOs too. Great value !!!!

This first one is for the Bird is the Word Challenge. The criteria was to use the word "MAGIC" on your LO.

This photo was taken sometime in 2007 of Ethan while we were over in Adelaide. Love the quote, and thought it was perfect for the challenge.

The next 2 LOs are "just because". Love doing these occassionally :)

This last LO is a little bit different and not my usual style, but I'm happy that I kept it simple.

I have been at the boys football all day today and just about to head back to the club for dinner. But, I have been trying to load this post for 2 days now and my computer hasn't been playing nice. Hoping this works now.

Love it when it all comes together

I saw the White with 1 criteria this month, found a few things in my stash and what do you know, it came together just the way I wanted and in record speed for me !!!!

Criteria was olive green, twine and of course white

I did it a bit different and used the green CS. It hasn't come out the best in this picture, IRL it is more an olive color. I've used gesso on the background and I love the texture it gives. Other bits I've used are new Bella chippie pieces, twine, and a Dusty Attic chicken wire chipboard. Kept this relatively simple.

Black is Back !!!!

Morning all

What a wonderful morning it is here today. Sun is shining and skies are blue :) Great day for washing and doing all the chores, but not for me today. Today I am scrapping !!!! There are so many challenges - gotta love the first day of a new month. And this month, I plan on getting some of them done !!

Black with 2 is back !!!! and the first challenge was a REAL challenge for me.

Black, with LAVENDER (eekkk) and glitter (double eekkkk).

Here is what I managed to find in my stash

I was going through my photo stash and found this one of myself and my bestie from 10 years ago on her wedding day. My, how time flies !!!

I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. I've used no paper on this, just paint, doileys and cardstock to create the background. I have also used one of Krissy's fabulous MVB large black roses, some prima, kaiser and my glitter is the kindy glitz.

So make sure you check out all of the awesome DT work, and come play along.

I've also been making another cake. This was our Celebration Cake that we completed in class last night. The navy blue didn't turn out how I had planned, but other than that, I'm pleased with it. I'm really enjoying making cakes :)

Here's my example

This picture is after our busy day walking around Sydney. The boys just crashed. It was a long day, but we all had a great time.

I've used new Jillibean Soup "Spotted Owl" paper and embeliies.

And don't forget that Black with 2 will have it's first challenge up on April 1st - only 3 more sleeps to go. Make sure you are a follower of the blog so you don't miss out on on great challenges and great prizes.

I have managed to complete ZERO challenges this month, but plan on changing that during April. Trying to get on top of things around the house so I have time, is a lot harder than I would like. Especially with 3 boys that like to mess everything up as soon as I've cleaned !!!

Something different...

I hope everyone is having a great week :) It's been another typically busy week in our household and the week seems to have flown by !!! I have scrapped (but can't show just yet), BUT I have been creating something a little different this week that has taken up all of my time.

It is my nephew's 1st birthday party this weekend, and I offered to have a go at making him a birthday cake. It is a Batman themed party, so I thought a Batman cake was needed :) This is my first go at ganaching a cake and icing it - trickier than it would seem, but here is the end result

Not the best light as the photo was taken at night but I'm happy with how it turned out and my SIL is wrapt (sp)!! The colors turned out just how I planned and the batman cutter was the finishing touch :)

Now to transport it to the party!!!! Let's hope it doesn't fall apart.

It's a miserable day here today, so after a bit of cleaning I'm going to scrap. Have lots of lovely new goodies to play with, so best get cracking with it.

I haven't had much time for scrapping this last week and have only managed to get my CT committments completed. This week over at The Scrappiest there is another awesome sketch to play along with. The DT have created some stunning examples, so make sure you head on over to check it out.

I did something a little different with this LO and used red CS. I'm not sure I like it but maybe that's because I'm so used to working with kraft and white. Anyway, here it is. Pictures are of my son Ethan on his 12th birthday this year.

I've used some old Rusty Pickle papers on this, as well as MLBOW buttons and Such Sweet Tierney buttons.

Working on a couple of other LOs that I hope to show you soon.

And here's what I did with it

I have used the Echo Park "Little Boy" range of papers on this one. Picture of Bailey and Aidan on the Merry Go Round at Movie World last year. Out of all the rides to choose from, this was the one they kept wanting to go on !!! Would love to see some of the wonderful people who visit here join in with this one :)

Am going to try and squeeze in some more scrapping before I head back to work this afternoon. Haven't started any challenges, but have done a few things that I can't show yet.

Cake Creating

For something different, I started a cake decorating course this term and I am loving it !!! We finished our first cake last night so thought I would share with you. The only downside is we make fruit cake and nobody here eats them so I will have to find a nice home for them to go to :) We've learnt how to ice the cake as well as make the flowers, leaves and butterflies.

We start our 2nd cake next week - an exploding box cake. Can't wait to get started.

Helllllooooooo there, yes it's been awhile. I'm not going to bore everyone with what's been happening as it's always the same thing :) I haven't managed to do any scrapping BUT I have some exciting news to share -

I've used part of the My Lil Monster kit from Wicked Princesses, that includes the Jillibean Soup Monster Stew papers, the cutest little monster button and MVB trim. I've also used Echo Park stickers, Scrapware chippie and had my first go at the paper flower. There's also a cute yellow star button from MLBOW

On Ya Bike

Challenge Heaven have some great challenges this month, so I decided to play along with the Theme Challenge. For this one, we had to scrap about Transport and include ink somewhere. I've used sketch # 39 from Sketchabilities as my base.

I have stamped the background, as well as added paint. I also tried the rolling paper technique that I've seen on quite a number of LO's. I have used chipboard sun and cloud from Chipchopshop, as well as MLBOW button and heart pin, and a Little Red Rocket car button.

That's all the scrapping I've had time for this week. Been rather busy with school going back, work starting etc

Growing up way too fast !! Aidan is off to kinder today, so must remember to take his photo.

I've started detoxing, running (again) and no sweets in my diet the last week and I've lost 2kgs already :) Going to the naturopath has been the best thing I could have done (my visa card doesn't agree though!. Let's see if I can continue with it :)

I was asked by the lovely Shell over at Challenge Heaven to be the Guest DT for February. I was thrilled when she asked me and couldn't really believe that anyone would like my work to ask me anything !!! Love the challenges over there so I couldn't say no.

I was asked to do the sketch challenge

Here is what I did

I've used the Echo Boy range "Little Boy" papers and embellies, as well as Chip Chop Shop embellies. (Can't wait for that shop to open again). I've also painted and misted the background. I was really happy how this LO turned out as I didn't want to let Shell down :)

It's a new month, which means new challenges so I can't wait to get started. I'm hoping to find my mojo somewhere. I've had one of those weeks where I haven't done anything :( Done a lot of blog hopping but just made me feel "blah" about what I do :( But, I'm going to pick myself up and get on with it :)

Aidan has his kinder orientation today. My baby is a big boy now. The other boys are at school Thursday and Friday this week. It's been a long 7 weeks.

Before I go, if anyone has any tips on how to make my images "bigger" I would love your advice :)

I used the December "He's Savvy" kit for this month's first sketch over at Savvy

I flipped it, and here is my take on it

It sort of, maybe, a little?? looks like the sketch on the side. The only extra bits I've added are the tags, MLBOW bird pin and Chip Chop Shop mushroom. Everything else comes from the kit.

Might go watch some of the tennis now. I was up at the crack of dawn and had all the housework done by 9.30am - very rare for me !!

The mojo is in full swing, so I figure I'd keep scrapping away !! This time I have joined in at Color Combos Galore. Here is the Color Palette

I love these colors and found the perfect photo of Ethan to go with them. I really love how this LO turned out :)

Title is self explainatory :) On this LO I've used a trusty pizza box as the background. I've misted the background and painted chipboard. Have also added buttons from Such Sweet Tierney and Purple Pumpkin. Also a tag from 2BoysMama and one of Krissy's MVB flowers. The title looks black, but it is actually dark blue to match the palette.

The Color Room - I did it !!

I have been stalking The Color Room for quite some time now, but never joined in. There is so much talent over there that I'm a little scared to put my work in their gallery !!! Anyhoo, when I saw the color palette this week, I had to give it a go.

Rustling through my shimmerz stash, I found I had ALL 4 colors !!! Couldn't believe my luck. It was still a really hard palette to work with, but I thought the black and white photo would go perfectly with it. Had to add a bit of black in the title as I struggled with the color on any of my alphas. I'm not a flower girl, but there is plenty of prima on this one, as well as shimmerz spritz and paint.

Not a good shot due to bad light, I will try and get another one tomorrow :)

Get Picky

I decided to give Get Picky a go this month. First time of playing along, and I'm happy with how my LO turned out.

Thanks to the very talented Wendy, I decided to give her background technique a go. The LO is very simple, but I wanted the background to be the feature. So thanks Wendy !!!!

The sketch this month was a double, but I just can't do doubles, so I altered it to fit my photos. Anyway, here is my LO

Keeping with the theme of our beach holiday, these photos were priceless. Aidan was petrified the first time he surfed by himself, but we couldn't wipe the smile off his face afterwards.

I have mod podged and then scrunched tissue paper on the background and sprayed it with Midnight Blue glimmermist. And of course, there is some paint on there too ;). I have just discovered Tim Holtz Crackle paint and love it !! Don't know what took me so long LOL

Well, its going to be a nice hot one here today. I have cooking to do for the party, but right now I need to get the washing on the line.

Kraft It Up

Well, we're back from holidays, everything is unpacked and we have our new floorboards down. So, I thought it was time that I pulled my finger out and did some scrapping. Lately I haven't had any mojo, and I'm still not sure if I like this LO but it's done.

This month at Kraft It Up you had to create a Summer theme and use a Summer word in your title. Check, and check. Oh, and use Kraft as your base :)

This photo was taken on our recent holiday to Batemans Bay. It was the first time Aidan had been on the boogie board and actually did it by himself.

As I said, not sure if I am happy with it - feels like there is something missing??

We're off for dinner tonight to celebrate Ethan's 12th birthday and my mum's 60th. We're having a beach party for Ethan on Saturday and we couldn't have asked for better weather - 28 and sunny !!! Looking forward to a good day.

Well, must be off and get myself organised. I will try to be back soon with more scrapping. I have so many pictures - not sure how I'll get through them all.

Yes, I am still here. There has just been too much going on over the last month that I have had no time to blog. I have done NO scrapping since the start of December and not sure when I will get to do more.

Want to wish you all a great New Year. My word for 2011 is Motivation. I desperately need to find some, so that's what I'm going to do.

I found another site during the week that I thought I would have a go at. The only problem being that I was too late to enter it in this week's sketch LOL. Oh well, always next time.

So, the site is Sketchabilities and this was based on Sketch # 35. I really loved the sketch, and it suited these photos well.

Photo was taken of the boys on the mini Tower of Terror in the WB Kids section at Movie World. It was one of the funnies things I've seen when the ride dropped down and scared the daylights out of the boys. By the end of it, Bailey was loving it, but Aidan wasn't too sure. They only went on it once though LOL.

Sorry about the dodgy photo. Very overcast and stormy here this afternoon. Hubby has gone to the U2 concert tonight, so once I've cleaned up the mess and put the boys into bed, think I'll be back down in my scrap room playing along with some of the new monthly challenges.

Hello there, I'm back and blogging finally !!!!

We had a fantastic time on our QLD holiday, but unfortunately real life has set in again and we're back into the swing of things. I have soooo many photos to scrap though, so if I get time to scrap them, there will be plenty to share :) It feels like I haven't been on here forever, but that's going to change

I have a couple of LO's to share. The first one being for the Number Challenge over at Challenge Heaven.

This is Aidan's 4th birthday a couple of weeks ago. He was loving singing Happy Birthday to himself. The criteria was to use a Number in or as your title, plus multi photos. This LO doesn't have as many embellies as I would usually use, but I still like it :) I've used the new Echo Park "Little Boy" range of papers, and I love them !!!!!

This next one was inspired by a Nic P LO. Love her work !!! I was going to use it as the Nickname Challenge at Challenge Heaven, however, I didn't really do any stamping (apart from the "I Adore You") so didn't enter it. Anyway, I'm happy with how this one turned out too

I would love to stay and blog more but I need to get organised and head over to the Year 7 Orientation Day afternoon tea. Can't wait to see Ethan and find out if he had a great time at his new school.

My baby is 4 today

Where has the last 4 years gone?? It seems like yesterday that my baby was born, and today he turns 4 !!!!!

He woke up early today and was very concerned that Bailey was touching his presents LOL.

Here are some snaps from this morning and opening his presents. He was soooo excited to get an Iron Man costume, and still hasn't taken it off. Even more excited to get a flashing light that snaps onto the costume - just like Iron Man

No scrapping to share today :( I have been flat out for the last few days as we go away tomorrow. Can't wait.

Have another busy day today so best get off here :) I'll be back to share some scrappy work when I'm back as I'm sure I'll have plenty of photos from our trip :)

White with 1

Thought I'd play along with White with 1 this month and here is what I did

The criteria was to use white (main color), yellow and journalling straight onto your LO. No journalling spots etc to be used.

I love yellow and I'm happy with this one. Photo is of my pre-teenager son, who is full of attitude atm!!! Of course, he doesn't think he has one though *rolling eyes*.

Have kept this LO very simple, but as usual I have used paint on the background :)

SOrry about the shadows, but it's rather sunny here today and I couldn't find the right "spot" to take it

Good Times

I'm back :) It seems like a while that I posted here, but I have been busy and haven't had much time to squeeze in any scrapping :(

Anyway, this LO was created for Challenge Heaven and it is the November Song Challenge. Criteria was to use an 80's Song title and glimmermist/paint. I loved Poison when I was younger !!!!

On this LO I've used Jazz Blue and Sunshine glimmermist, the NEW Fine and Dandy range by MME - and OMG I am in looovvveeee with this range of papers and embellies !!! Also used some embellies from the ChipChopShop and MLBOW. Have kept them to a minimum on this one ;)

I'm hoping that all the new challenges will get my scrapping mojo going. I seem to have lost it :( I've been looking at all the fabulous blogs out there trying to find it, but I just seem to get more disheartened :( I would love to be as talented as other people. Does anyone else find it difficult to start a LO?? That seems to be my problem - picking the papers I want to use :S

Off to QLD next week for some well deserved R&R with the family. In the meantime, have to get everything and everyone organised, and it's Aidan's 4th birthday next week. Where have those 4 years gone????

Sketch Inspiration

I have just discovered a new sketch challenge site - Sketch Inspiration, and they have some fantastic ideas on there !! This LO I did for sketch # 147.

This is also my Day 4 of 30 - A photo of your best friend.

I couldn't find the pic on the hard drive, so have to go with this.

In this LO I've used Echo Park papers, paint and glimmermist, a purple pumpkin button, MVB lace, MLBOW bird pin and a D-Lish flower. I didn't intend to scrap this in pink, but somehow that's how it turned out LOL.

Has been a quiet day here today :) Had the AGM last night for 4 YO Kinder next year and the strangest thing happened. I left the meeting and WAS NOT on the committee, let alone the executive LOL !!!!!!! I had made a promise to myself that next year I would do NOTHING and leave it up to someone else. Everywhere you go, it's ALWAYS the same people doing everything, but not this time. Looking forward to a peaceful year of drop off and pick up, and coffee in between :)

One really is the loneliest number !!!! I've only managed to scrap ONE LO this week, and it was for Challenge Heaven

Have been rather flat out the last week. So much going on with work, kids etc and getting ready for our QLD holiday. Can't wait for that. Anyhow, I'm hoping to get more scrapping done this week, and get back on track with my 30 days :(

2Crafty challenge

I've managed to scrap 2 LO's in the last couple of days. The first one was for the Savvy Kit Challenge. I decided to ONLY use what was in the kit (to see if I could actually do it). It seems rather bare for me, and not what I normally tend to do, but, I think it's OK. What do you think?? There's no paint, ink or glimmermist on there "shock*. Not sure how I managed to finish it to be honest LOL.

The criteria was

Paper folding
Lots of layering
2 different colors to doodle

The next one was for the 2Crafty October challenge. The only criteria was to make it a multi photo LO (and use 2Crafty chipboard obviously ;). Lately I seem to be doing a lot of those, so this was rather easy. You can't really see the stars I've used on the bottom as they are black and so is the mesh. Note to self - make it brighter next time !!!! I also used 3 tiny arrows on the LHS of the LO. I love orange and blue together !! I could scrap with these colors everytime.

Day 4 of 30 - hasn't happened yet as I'm trying to find the photo I want to post. It seems to have disappeared. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some luck.

Day 3 of 30

I was so busy yesterday that I ran out of time to post Day 3. But here it is

Day 3 - Your idea of the perfect date

After 13 years together, hubby and I don't really go on as many "dates" as we probably should. But, we did go on a fabulous dinner for our anniversary this year, so this would be my perfect dat

The place was Bluestone Restaurant. The food was absolutely unbelievable and the atmosphere very romantic for a dinner for 2. Anytime away from the kids is always a nice time LOL

Afterwards, a bit of comedy was on the agenda.

So that would be my perfect date :)

I managed to scrap a LO in between doing work, cleaning and kinder AGM's yesterday and Sunday too. This LO is for the Ebony/Ivory challenge over at Challenge Heaven

You could use either black or white with yellow and blue. Photos are of Bailey and the first time he actually went into the beach and didn't come back out screaming. He hasn't looked back since.

Day 2 - A photo of something you ate today

Yum !!! Nothing better than boiled eggs on toast for breakfast, especially when they are cooked just right. Would be my favourite thing to eat on a slow moving Sunday morning :)

No scrapping here today. Have a mountain of housework and cooking, as well as cleaning up my scrap room. It is a little bit out of control. Maybe if I'm lucky and get everything done, I could possibly squeeze some in tonight ?? Will have to wait and see.

Day 1 - Is a photo of yourself, and a description of your day.

So this would be the most recent photo taken of me (edited hubby out LOL). It was taken at the recent Powderfinger concert in Melbourne.

Description of my day

Was up early today as we have Little Athletics, however didn't go as it is soooo cold and wet. So, went food shopping instead (joy). Hubby has now gone to Ballarat for the Powderfinger concert and I'm home with the boys. We are planning on going to the local indoor play centre after a bite to eat. I would prefer to be sitting in the warm house by the heater, but it will tire them out !!! Other than that, not much is going on in our home today. Oh, I did pay for our QLD holiday, and our Batemans Bay caravan holiday YIPPEEE !!!! So that's 2 exciting things I guess :)

And before I go, a quick picture of the boys that was taken last night. Even though Bailey WAS NOT impressed about having to get his photo taken

Oh, almost forgot - here is my October Kraft it Up entry, using the August Boy kit from What Is Old Is New.

Creative day

I've been busy trying to do a few challenges this week, but not having much luck until today. My mojo seemed to have disappeared for awhile.

This first LO is based on the Creative Sketches # 125. I loved this sketch !!! And I've used the Hello Sunshine kit from Wicked Princesses. So bright and fun, perfect for scrapping my baby boy photos. This one is Aidan, born 7 weeks early and so tiny.

This next LO is for the first sketch over at Stuck

Another picture of Aidan (all I seem to scrap lately) and I've used the Dude Kit from WP, as well as a funky chipboard star border from 2Crafty.

It's going to be a horrible few days here (raining, hail and cold) so I might just try and scrape in a few more challenges.

Final interior

This week was our final challenge over at Wicked Princesses and their Inspiring Interiors. To see the room we were inspired by, click here

And here is my take on it.

I took inspiration from the colors - orange, blue, red and yellow. I also plonked my photos in a group of squares like the check pattern on the bed cover. For anyone that knows me, I HATE bunting, however Tam Wade challenged me to add it onto my LO - so there's just a very small bit on the left hand corner. :)

I've used the MME Alphabet Soup range of papers, lots of misting and painting, as well as plenty of buttons from Such Sweet Tierney. They really do finish off a LO. As well as the cute MLBOW bird pin.

I'm not 100% sure of this LO, but I'm happy that I actually managed to finish all 6 challenges :)

Off for school pick up, so hope to have some more to share later this week.

Savvy Sketch

Here is my take on the October sketch over at Savvy. I loved the sketch this month, so just had to play along. A little different than how I would normally scrap, but don't mind how it turned out

I've used the new Jillibean Soup "Monster Stew" papers. Love this range - so versatile for boy LOs. Also used a cloud from Chipchopshop, and the cute buttons are from MLBOW.

Once I can work out this new computer and the resizing thing, I'll be able to load it !!!

The last interior for WP is up, but I'm not sure when I'll get time to finish it :S. Off on a shopping tour this weekend, so I doubt there will be anymore scrapping done. Oh well, its going to be a beautiful sunny weekend, so can't complain about that and getting out of the house !!!

Interior # 5

Two posts in one afternoon - unheard of !! But, the postie delivered the flowers I was waiting for so I just HAD to finish off Interior # 5 for Wicked Princesses

This photo was taken when we were at the recent Powderfinger concert. I am really glad that I waited for the right flowers to put on it and am happy with how it turned out. Only one more week to go until the end of the challenge. Have enjoyed every week.

A quick share

Just a quick share today. Managed to get only one LO done over the weekend, and it was for the Song challenge over at Challenge Heaven. I'm really loving their challenges this month.

For this challenge we had to use a song title from a children's movie plus buttons. Check, and check. I love this photo of Bailey, and I'm pleased with how the LO turned out.

It's a lovely sunny day in downtown Melbourne today, so I'm off to get some washing hung up and then hoping to finish my next Interior for Wicked Princesses when the postie arrives. Hopefully he has my goodies I had to buy to make the LO just right LOL.

Challenge Heaven

I was a bit late doing this for Challenge Heaven, but I really love how it turned out. The challenge was to use black and white, with grey and a boy's photo (no problems there!!).

Just a quick stop by today as I've got lots to do. Hubby and son have gone away for the weekend, so it's just me and the 2 younger rug rats. Once the house work is done, then I'm scrapping. Love the start of the month when all the new challenges come out.

It's a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne today, and the same for the Grand Final replay tomorrow. I'll be barracking extra loudly for the Pies to get up and win tomorrow.

What a weekend...

What a weekend !!!! A draw in the AFL Grand Final. Not sure if I can go through another week of it - GO PIES !!!!!!!!

We also had athletics start on Saturday morning and Bailey was so excited as he could finally start in the Under 7's.

This was after his 400m race that he won !!! He was so excited, a little tired, but excited :)

This was his first ever race :) He came 5th and was very pleased with himself.

And, this is Ethan in his 100m. Ran a PB so that was great :)

I've only managed to scrap one LO in the last few days :( Have been quite busy with school holidays. Anyway, this is my Week 4 Interior Challenge at Wicked Princesses The inspiration was taken from a Conservatory, with the added twist of having to add a window on the LO.

Tried to keep this rather simple, but was pleased with the window effect of the cut photo :)

That's it for today. Going to try and get a couple of last minute LO's completed by the end of the month, and even thinking of trying out for the CT at White with 1. Yes, they're back, so go check them out :)

So many challenges, and so little time to do them all. This is my first time joining in over at Inspired Blueprints. It was a great sketch to work with, but my LO is a little different that what I have been doing lately. What do you think?? No paint on it, and it feels bare and unfinished :S

I used the Bo Bunny "Sun Kissed" range of papers. Nice and bright and I thought they were perfect for a sunny day at the beach body boarding :)

Next LO is for the last sketch this month at Wicked Princesses.

The next interior is up tomorrow at WP, so hoping to get that done this week as well as a couple of other LO's. But, first need to do the housework !!

Went to the park with the 2 younger boys today and had a great time. Got so many fantastic shots, I'll share a couple next post :) Just have to sort through the 200 odd that I took !!

Messy fun.....

So the image we had to take inspiration from this week over at Wicked Princesses was this

and this is what I did with it

Once I started, I had a lot of fun with this - getting nice and messy !! The criteria was to use paint, and 2 stationary items. I've used plenty of paint, some glimmermist on the background (represents the spray paint), I've used staples and a bull dog clip. I was inspired by the colors - blue, white and red. And, the rectangles on my heading and journal tag represent the shape of the door. The messy feel comes from the messy desk in the picture :)

I'm going to try and get a few other challenges finished this weekend as hubby is in Adelaide, so I have time to do whatever I like :) Gotta love that.

For now, I best go get Aidan ready for kinder and put some washing on.

September Kraft It Up

This month at Kraft It Up, we had to create a LO based on this picture

My doodled border is inspired by the flags, I took inspiration from the colors, and my stamped background is based on the shapes on the soccer ball.

I have used items from Purple Pumpkin, My Vintage Blossoms and MLBOW.

The picture is of Aidan (again) and how I could not get his dummy out of his mouth !!! Everywhere he went he would be chewing on this disgusting thing.

Nothing like the bathroom !!! but I took inspiration from the circle shape, the blue water in the bath and the flowers.

The picture is of Aidan when we were in Robe.

I've used My Vintage Blossoms, Prima, Tierney Buttons, the cutest Mr Men button from Lil Red Rocket and an MLBOW heart pin. Can you spot it ??

Sept He's Savvy

The September He's Savvy kit would have to be one of my faves right now. So easy to work with. Here are 3 LO's that I've created, and I still have enough product and papers left for at least another 2 !!!!

The first LO was for the blind scrap over at Wicked Princesses. I'm not overly happy with it, but it's really hard to scrap to someone else's style iykwim. Picture is of Bailey at my work family day last weekend.

This next LO is from sketch # 101 at Creative Scrappers. Very plain Jane for me, but I'm happy with the end result. Picture is of Aidan when the football skins were brought home. He had to have some too, even though they were enormous on him

And finally, this sketch is the current sketch over at Wicked Princesses.

Well, I best go and clean up and get dinner ready. Chicken curry tonight - yum !!!! Then, might do a few more challenges at a few other sites.

Our first challenge over at Wicked Princesses for the Interior Inspiration challenge was based on a picture. Here is my take on the challenge. I have never done shabby before, so not sure if it really is "shabby", but I am really pleased with the end result. Even though I used all my stash of prima flowers *sigh*. Don't use them often but now I'm inspired to buy more and scrap more "shabbily".

This picture is of my eldest son when he was Page Boy at my brother's and SIL wedding back in 2005. Time certainly flies.

This first LO is for the August sketch at Scrapbook Savvy. It's a picture of Ethan playing his 50th football match this year. Love the Basic Grey "Basics" range for this one.

My second LO is for one of the sketches at Wicked Princesses. The MLSB snail is too cute.

Not much else has been happening as the weather has been horrible here. Great weather for scrapping, so I might continue to do so after I get the dinner ready.

I have been doing a bit more scrapping today of Ethan's grand final pictures. I'm making a book of the football year, so want to get it finished as soon as I can.

Here is my take on the August Scrap the Boys challenge. We had to use flowers, so I have used one flower from the lovely Krissy at Wicked Princesses, and the other is one I made. Didn't want anything too "girly" on there.

Not overly happy with it, as it's not normally a style I would do, but it's done.

I played along over at Scrapbook Savvy using the "He's Savvy" August kit. Such a great kit for masculine LO's. The papers are designed for travel snaps, however, I used a picture of Ethan before his grand final this month. I'm quite pleased with the finished result.

I'm not sure if I'm happy with how it turned out. I love the photo of all the boys feeding the deer when we were at the Mogo Zoo earlier this year. I find it alot harder to create something when I'm thinking too much and not just "plonking" things everywhere.

Sorry for the below average picture. I'm playing with my new computer and getting used to all the picture settings.

On this LO I've used Jillibean Soup papers, AC thickers, My Vintage Blossom poppy, prima flowers, MLBOW froggie pin (too cute) and button and Such Sweet Tierney buttons. I'm addicted to the grungy stamp from Kaiser too that I've used on the background.

I've been scrapping a bit lately, and really enjoying it. Not often that I get a chance to sit down and do something for myself, but this month I have.

These 3 LO's were done using the July sketches at Wicked Princesses. Love Krissy's sketches.

I also did a LO for Creative Scrappers Sketch # 112 but just need to edit the photo a little. Shall pop that on here next time.

Scrap the Boys

This is the first time I have completed a LO for the Scrap the Boys challenge. The challenge was to scrap Just the Facts about your boy. This LO is about Bailey and his quirky facts as of now.

I found it easy to throw things together on this LO, rather than thinking too much about it.

Now onto the other 2 boys to see if I can get them done before the end of the month.
